Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to St Oscar Romero Catholic Sixth Form.
Firstly, thank you for considering us for the next stage of your education. Reflecting on my own experience of completing my A levels, and as a parent, I fully appreciate the importance of this next stage in a young person’s education. We opened in September 2024 and welcomed our 2nd set of Sixth Form students in September 2025. We now have a happy, thriving community of over 150 students.
At St Oscar Romero, our aim is simple: we want to be the best Sixth Form in England. This means that we can, ‘hand on heart’, say that our students will get a better deal than if they attended another college.
Central to this is ensuring that you will receive the very best support in order to fulfil your true potential. Alongside academic excellence, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding pastoral care so that every young person is ‘known and loved’.
Your choice of where to study for the next two years is probably the most important decision you have had to make in your life so far. Studying for your A-Levels will define your future: at St Oscar Romero’s we are passionate about providing you with the best education possible, guiding you to becoming successful and independent learners. I can assure you we will work tirelessly to ensure you are fully prepared for the next stage of your lives, be that at university or in the workplace.
We offer an ambitious curriculum where students not only have the opportunity to study a range of courses but also have the opportunity through our enrichment programme to develop a holistic character education which will prepare them for the rigour and challenges of life as they leave St Romero’s.
Our Sixth Formers will be very much part of the school, mentoring, tutoring and supporting younger students, whilst enjoying increasing independence. The step up to Sixth Form is significant and very exciting.
It is important to us that when you leave us in Year 13, you not only leave with the very best exam results, but also with the moral, spiritual and social skills you need to take your place in an ever-changing world.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our next cohort of students to Romero’s in September 2026 and know that they will be the trailblazers and record breakers for West Sussex.
I hope this website gives you a taste of what St Oscar Romero Sixth Form life is all about but the best way to fully appreciate all that we can offer is to come for a visit and see us in action.
